Privacy policy

Last updated: 6 June 2026.

Tip or Nah? is a free, ad-supported website. We keep this simple: we don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect personal information ourselves. The tool runs in your browser. What follows is what does happen, mostly through the advertising and analytics services we use.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. There's no login, no newsletter, and no form that stores your data on our servers. Your choices in the tool (which situation you tapped) stay in your browser and aren't sent to us.

Cookies and advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. To do that, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info.

For how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google's partner-sites policy.

Consent (EU, UK, and similar regions)

If you visit from a region that requires it, a consent banner appears before any advertising or analytics cookies load. We use Google Consent Mode: until you accept, those cookies stay off. You can change your choice anytime by clearing this site's cookies, which brings the banner back.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful, in aggregate. Analytics cookies are also covered by the consent banner where required. Analytics tells us things like which situations get read most; it doesn't identify you to us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA/CPRA (California): to access, delete, or restrict personal data, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of data for targeted advertising. Because we don't hold personal data ourselves, most of these are exercised through the ad and analytics controls linked above, or by adjusting cookies in your browser. For anything else, contact us.

Children

This site is for a general adult audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Questions? Reach out.
